Happiness vs Joy

I have learned the difference between happiness and joy as I got older. Happiness meant as long as I could get what I wanted and when I wanted it I would be happy. But then I realize after the excitement wore off there was nothing else to look forward to.

Then in my mature stage I realized it was joy I needed more than anything else. You see when you have joy and things don’t go your way you still can be content because joy is not a quick emotion but joy is a word that gives you something to depend on when all else fails.
